Legal Entities API
We're introducing Legal Entities for individuals. Register a person once with contact details and a government-issued identifier, then reference them by a stable lei_ ID while KYC and product access progress.
What's new
- Create individuals — POST /v1/legal_entities/individuals. Requires
name,phone_number,email,locale,company_reference, andidentifier(type,value,country_code). The individual starts in statuscreatedwith product capabilitiesdisabled. - Retrieve individuals — GET /v1/legal_entities/individuals/{id}. Returns
identifier,unresolved_checks, andcapabilities(accounts,payments,incoming_payments). Capabilities becomeenabledonce verification reaches the basic level. - Signup link — POST /v1/legal_entities/individuals/{id}/signup. Creates a signup short link, SMSes it to the individual, and returns
{ "link": "…" }. A new link is created on every call.
These endpoints are available from API version 202610. Company and sole trader onboarding continues via Account Holders. See the Legal Entities guide for request examples and identifier types.
Account Holder Verifications
Holder verification responses now include the destination bank (name and bic) of the verified account. This field is also present in holder verification webhooks and in the preview endpoint.
